Born in Venezuela to American parents, artist/instructor Lisa Coddington, grew up in the American suburbs with an appreciation for exploring the outdoors. Now residing in Santa Fe, New Mexico the artist is surrounded with new views of art forms familiar to her from favorite childhood folk art gifts her parents brought from travels abroad. The art objects cultivated her appreciation for global aesthetic diversity, and introduced to her a visual language that transcends cultural barriers. Her watercolors depict subjects that are beautiful, sometimes whimsical, and preferably delicious.
Her recently published illustrations in the children’s picture book Silly Sweet Snuggle Bugzzz Dreamzzz accompanies the plush character, and has been awarded as one of the top fifty “2010 New Product Innovations” in the Las Vegas All Baby & Child Show. The book is now available at www.snugglebugzzz.com
In 2013, new inspiring art classes are offered at Santa Fe Community College. Short Introductory drawing, watercolor, and botanical art classes are designed for the visiting tourists. Lisa also leads tours and conducts art history lectures for Road Scholar Tour Company in Santa Fe, NM.
Longer classes are available for Santa Fe, and New Mexico residents, and other locations by special contract. Contact Lisa to discuss scheduling.
